On Sunday, Brian, the kids and I all went grocery shopping, so we conquered that as a team and checked that off my list prematurely! Thank you, BRI! I prefer family shopping! I hope we get back to that after this darn thesis is done!
Tuesday was Landen's first school field trip of the school year. They went to a local pumpkin patch that has all kinds of activities to do and of course, pick a pumpkin. Thank you to my mother-in-law, Marie, for coming out so I could go along with his little class. It was a fun outing, and I am thankful that I went because all 9 of the other boys mommy's went, too! I would have felt terrible if poor Lan was the only one without his mom :( We got the field trip out of the way, then I came home to pack a few boxes while I had someone to watch the kiddo's upstairs. I was doing well...until I ran out of packing tape! That was a good enough reason to stop! From there I made dinner, I can't even remember what I made dinner. Oh, it was hamburger soup! I will post that on delightful dishes soon!
Tuesday was also Gavin's first birthday! We sadly didn't do anything more than sing him happy birthday, which was adorable because he got embarrassed when we did. It was so cute! On his birthday, he started crawling on all fours. He has been army crawling for a few months now. He pulls up on everything. Before you know it this kiddo will be running to keep up with his brothers! I can't believe he is already a year old. With each kid, it's like pushing the fast forward button one more time on the DVR, it just gets faster and faster!
Wednesday and Thursday flew by. I was pathetically exhausted from the field trip because I had to be up and put together prior to 8:30 in the morning, and for me that is extremely unusual. I had set my alarm for 6:45 because I am heavy with the snooze button, but last Tuesday, I shouldn't have even set a darn alarm, because I woke up at 5:45 and couldn't go back to sleep. RIDICULOUS! So, needless to say, I was a zombie Wednesday, though I did manage to order Gavin's birthday cake. Thank goodness I remembered to do that.
Thursday afternoon, I slowly started to not feel right. Around 2:30, I just could not get warm. I normally run cold, like a snake. Seriously, I have no body heat. I hadn't looked at the thermostat in a while, so at first I thought I just needed to kick the heat up or put on a sweatshirt. But after looking I realized it was me, and that I had the chills. Plus, my left boob felt tender. It hit me. MASTITIS! I had it before, when Gavin was newborn. It sucks. Since I have had it before, I knew just what to do. I took some IBprofn and called Brian home, got some rest and was feeling better by the next morning, but wasn't 100%.
I got it together though, because Landen and Nolan had been invited to a Halloween party at a classmates house. They had been looking so forward to it, so I got ready and took them. It was INSANE! Landen's class is 10 boys. They were all there along with all of their siblings that are 99% boys, plus most all of the moms. Kids with swards and guns in costume were running from all corners of that house. It was like kids on speed for 2 hours straight, and there was no candy involved. Just pure little boy energy on full blast. It was INSANE! The conversation between the moms is deserving of it's own post! :)
Anywho, I trudged on through my day, and went to the doctor who prescribed me an antibiotic for my chest issue. It seemed to be resolving itself since I was taking the right measures to keep it from getting worse, so the antibiotic was to be filled only if needed.
I headed home, where I had done nothing to prepare for Gavin's family birthday party Saturday. Shout out to Aunt Brittney for coming over to help out! I couldn't have pulled it off without her. We got the grocery's bought, and began the cleaning process which carried over into Saturday morning. We picked up the cake and chicken and made it home in time for the party. It was such a good time. I will save details for another post as well!
After everyone had left from the party, I sat on the couch, and the evil chills started to return. I had thought that I was out of the woods, but I certainly was not. I became very, very sick. This time, the chills were so bad, that I was tensing so many parts of my body and felt horrible. I started to cry, Brian was confused because he thought I was better. Thank you to my dear Brian. I wouldn't survive without him! He is the best care taker. I am one lucky gal! He went out and filled the script for me. While he was out, I was rapidly declining. All the while, Gavin wouldn't fall asleep while nursing, because I was shaking so much, and had bundled up with blankets making my body temp so high and his that he was just as miserable as I was. He hates being hot. Brian returned and took one look at me and told me I looked terrible. He took Gav, and worked on getting him to sleep for about an hour. Since Gavin nurses to sleep, Daddy has never put him to bed before. It finally took a Baby Einstein video in while laying in our bed with him, but he finally went to sleep. After resting through the night and getting the antibiotics in my system, I have slowly recovered. The house is just now starting to get back to normal. After a week like that, I need a vacation! I guess the best I will get is 10 minutes in the hot shower, and I can pretend that I am somewhere hot and drinking an imaginary margarita! Oh, wait....that won't happen, because Gavin will probably in the shower with me. LOL! :) Oh well. That's the mom life! Wouldn't trade it! Now, I am off to continue the crazy!
please excuse any grammatical errors in this one.....I will proof read later ;) If I don't post this now, after typing it a lightning speed, it will be another week before you see it! :) ENJOY!
